It is like requiring, for example, that before we accept a prediction about economic possibilities we want to know that the arithmetical calculations used in developing the prediction have been carried out correctly. In the ideal case, then, the scientist observes a certain group of phenomena that interests him and then comes up with a new concept which links all of these observations together, explains them in a simplified way. Some data may, for logical reasons, be considered to not fall under the heading of this theory.
There are two general classes of difficulties: general methodological problems stemming from the inherent nature of some d-ASCs, and those concerned with personal perils to the investigator.
