4. Action-research is a family of approaches, rather than a single model. At its core is a cycle of collaboration between researcher and action agency (see pages 16 and 17 of this text). 5. The most effective point of application in the current social, political, and economic situation is with small-scale pilot or exploratory enterprises seeking piecemeal solutions, rather than with grand Utopian programs. 6.
