(see Chapter 9) of two distinct human xanthophyll-binding proteins, GSTP 1 and the StAR D3, which specifically bind lutein and zeaxanthin, move us a step closer to answering the mechanism involved in the accumulation of L and Z within the retina (Bhosale et al.
